For fresh Malasadas we can fry and fill on site Ono !
Fresh is our aim, and to accomplish this we prepare the Malasadas right before delivery or we fry and fill them on site. They are a treat dusted with sugar, and a true delicacy custom filled with either Bavarian cream, Chocolate or our homemade Haupia.
The recipe, owned by Ada, originated at The Tex Drive In, located in Honoka'a, Hawaii.
Our great reputation comes from Hawaiian and Las Vegas customers' recommending the Malasadas on the "coconut wireless" and Social Media sites.

"Ada is at it again. She is one of the most creative business people I have ever met. Over the past two decades Ada catered several of my cycling groups both in her restaurant and at remote beach camping locations on Hawaii's Big Island. Always outstanding, making me look great to my hungry cyclists. Those lucky enough to enjoy her delicious Malasadas , will be back for more. Cheers and Good Luck!"

"If you are looking for authentic Hawaiian Malasadas, Ada's Malasadas are it." -Vince D.
The Pulin Family, Ada, Yasha ,Aki and Kai moved to Las Vegas in 2010 after they sold the Tex Drive-In (Honoka’a). Ada looked for opportunities to make and sell her Malasadas in Las Vegas. After acquiring a Cottage License, she began a business from her home and selling the Hawaiian treats at Farmer’s markets. The business quickly outgrew her home kitchen, and when she had found the right commercial kitchen Corona came along, and she had to close. Ada's Malasadas are available again for pick up delivery or catering at Parties and Gatherings
The recipe for sweet bread came to Hawaii with the sugar workers from the Azore’s (Portugal) in the early 1900s. Pieces of dough left from making sweet bread, fried, and rolled through sugar, were called Malasadas, a treat for young and old. In Hawaii Malasadas became a commercial product 50 years later. On the Island of Hawaii the Texeira's opened the Tex Drive In in 1969 and at a suggestion of its Portuguese cooks, Malasadas were added to the menu.
Over time these Malasadas became famous.
I am from the Netherlands and married an American Musician, who after a few years living in Holland, wanted to return home. We started out in New York and after a tour with a big band through the south we moved to California. What a culture shock; to make up for it I got permission from a friend to start a vegetable and flower garden at his house. It did not work out and Landscaping classes at UCLA taught me how to grow in Los Angeles. Scott Wilson, the professor, and his wife became good friends, and Scott came to Hawaii to help design a garden, which over time became an almost botanical garden featuring trees like Cinnamon, Jack fruit, and lots of tropical wonders. Most of them came from local gardens, plants the Hamakua residents gave me in exchange for food and Malasadas. The garden, became a “must” to see and received the Nani Waimea Award for “Excellence in Commercial Landscape Design” from Waimea Outdoor Circle on May 4, 2002.
It is a pity that the people, that became the new owners in 2009 did not see the garden as an asset and let it go.
1994/1995 The old had gone and almost weekly changes were made at the Tex Drive In. On the coconut wireless news traveled fast and whatever happened at the Tex became interesting news. These were also the days of the last harvests of sugarcane, which after lifetimes of employment, spread fear of unemployment, and doubts about the future of Hamakua. Somehow, with her boxes of Malasadas, Ada became part of the people, who under the leadership of Dwight Takamine, were organizing final harvest parades, celebrations, and plans for the future.
Through these difficult times residents looked at the Tex Drive In and Ada’s positive attitude as a beacon of hope. The manager of the local Bank of Hawaii had noticed this and proposed to submit her for an award from the Small Business Association.
